Colleen Sam

Colleen Sam has partnered with furniture designer Keith Weribone (Mandandanji) to create a 100% Indigenous owned business, ‘Moonks Indigenous Art on Furniture’. Colleen is a member of the Kalkadoon and has been given permission to tell stories from her Mother Ena Sam and Aunty Judy Sam who are traditional Kalkadung knowledge holders.

Colleen’s paintings tell stories of responsibilities to traditional kinship systems, country, nature and the natural elements. Within her paintings there is also a significance of the importance of the Dreaming Systems and why blood lineage to country is very important.
