Maureen Douglas is and artist from Tjala Arts in the heart of Amata community, in far north-west South Australia on the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara (APY) Lands.
Meet the Artist
Maureen Douglas
Maureen Douglas was born in Amoonguna and grew up in Warburton, Western Australia. She later moved to Pipalyatjara and made batik before moving to Amata where Maureen began painting her father's country and the Anumara Tjukurpa (Caterpillar Dreaming) at Tjala Arts. Maureen also paints with her family as part of the Burton Women’s Collaborative.
