About us
Aboriginal Art Co is a not-for-profit company established in July 2019. As a Registered Charity and listed on the Register Of Cultural Organisations, we are committed to creating social impacts for artists and their communities through the promotion of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander arts.
We run an art gallery and store in Brisbane’s Cultural Centre Precinct. We curate and sell a diverse range of quality Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artworks from across Australia. The Role
Aboriginal Art Co is seeking an experienced retail manager/artsworker to join the team. As Gallery and Store Manager you will be tasked to oversee the day-to-day operation of the retail store in Brisbane and online. You will need excellent communication and organisational skills to handle of wholesale orders and consignments as well as supervise part-time gallery staff. You will be creating monthly sales reports , regular stocktakes and ordering new stock.

Responsibilities
You will also communicate and contribute to team meetings to work towards a wholistic approach to the organisation and its goals. This may include curation, organisational processes, marketing and comms opportunities. We welcome innovation and inspiration and look forward to working with the right applicant on our expanding our offering with exciting and new art.
This is a fixed-term appointment of 12 months with probable extension. We encourage leadership and career progression opportunities. Flexibility in work hours and travel may be necessary.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur for up to 12 months.
