Gitjpulu Malibirr, hailing from the Mapuru area, is among the numerous talented fiber artists in this region. Crafted from Gunga, also known as Pandanus Palm, this intricately woven basket incorporates Balgurr, a type of Bush string. The creation of this basket involved a meticulous and unique coiling technique.

Gitjpulu Malibirr hails from Mapuru, a community situated 500 kilometers to the east of Darwin, within the northeastern region of Arnhem Land, Northern Territory. The Traditional Owners of this area are the Yolŋu people.
