Maicie Lalara

Maicie Lalara is an experienced and skilled artist and Project Officer at Anindilyakwa Arts  from Umbakumba community, Groote Eylandt, who enjoys sharing her  culture  and skills with diverse audiences, in person and recently  through online workshops.

Having  well and truly established her  ghost net and plant dying weaving practices, she is receiving National recognition, including as  a finalist in the Ravenswood Women’s Art Prize  with her series of three baskets ‘Gathering Family – Father, Mother and Baby Basket’
