Durban Bagii

Durban Bagii creator Carly Wallace is a Dulguburra Yidinji woman from Yungaburra in Far North Queensland.

Carly is a rainforest and freshwater woman now residing in Brisbane (Meanjin) since 2013.

Carly would like to pay respects to the Traditional custodians of the lands on which she creates her Durban Bagii weaving from, the Yuggera and Turrbal people in Brisbane, Queensland.

The art form of weaving was handed down to Carly from her elders and is a cultural practice she aims to keep alive by sharing her creations with people across Australia and the world.
