Expressions of Interest
6-Week Relief Printmaking Masterclass with Tamika Grant-Iramu
We are currently inviting Expressions of Interest for a 6-week relief printmaking masterclass led by acclaimed Brisbane-based artist Tamika Grant-Iramu.
We need 15 participants to ensure the course goes ahead.
This masterclass offers participants an immersive opportunity to develop both technical printmaking skills and conceptual depth. Across six weeks, participants will be guided through the full cycle of relief printmaking - from image development and carving through to professional printing and exhibition presentation. The program supports individual artistic development alongside collective studio learning through hands-on making, critical discussion, and one-on-one mentoring.
Participants will develop a body of work that is both technically resolved and conceptually strong, culminating in exhibition-ready works. The program also includes a professional printing experience at Corvine Art Studios, where participants will work with Tamika to print their final works to a professional standard.
The masterclass concludes with a public exhibition at Aboriginal Art Co Gallery, where friends, family, and community are invited to celebrate the completed works.

About Tamika Grant-Iramu
Since graduating from the Queensland College of Art in 2017 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Interdisciplinary Print Media), Tamika’s relief printmaking practice has been recognised in award exhibitions and institutional collections across Australia. Her work is inspired by the natural environment, drawing attention to the intricate details of native and introduced flora that often go unnoticed. Through the physical process of relief carving, she explores her connection to place and the intersecting threads of her Papua New Guinean, European, and Torres Strait Islander heritage.
Tamika’s practice brings together carving traditions and storytelling aesthetics from Torres Strait Islander and Papua New Guinean cultures with Western influences from her upbringing, forming a distinctive and evolving visual language. Alongside printmaking, her practice extends into textiles, interior furnishings, and major public art commissions.
