Enjoy a relaxed lunchtime walking tour through the heart of Brisbane's Cultural Centre precinct, discovering the stories behind some of the city's most significant First Nations public artworks with special guest guide, Troy Casey.

Beginning at the Gallery of Modern Art forecourt, you'll be welcomed with a warm cup of lemon myrtle tea before setting off on an easy stroll to explore 5–8 nearby public artworks, each just a short walk apart. Along the way, Troy will share insights into the artists, cultural significance and stories embedded within each work, offering a deeper understanding of First Nations perspectives, history and contemporary expression in the public realm.

The tour concludes at Floriate, Brian Robinson's striking new sculpture outside the Queensland Performing Arts Centre.

Troy Casey is a proud Kamilaroi man and Managing Director of Blaklash, an Aboriginal design consultancy championing Country-centred design to create culturally responsive and inclusive places.

Passionate about community development and social innovation, Troy works at the intersection of Traditional Knowledge, architecture, urban design and placemaking. Through meaningful collaboration with communities, he helps ensure First Nations voices are embedded within the built environment, demonstrating the vital role that art and design play in creating lasting social and cultural impact.

What to bring: We recommend bringing a water bottle, hat and umbrella, as much of the tour takes place outdoors and is exposed to the weather.
