HOTMESS: In The Flesh

Get ready to throw out the rulebook — this is life drawing turned upside down.
HOTMESS: In The Flesh is a visually explosive, emotionally charged, and wildly original experience where art, performance, and imagination collide. Step into a surreal world of costume, sound, lighting and narrative, designed to ignite your creative fire and pull you out of the everyday.
Created by multidisciplinary artists Sophie May and Gabrielle Miller, HOTMESS is part immersive theatre, part life drawing, and part artistic liberation. Each show is a unique, curated journey exploring cheeky, conceptual themes that invite you to draw, feel, laugh, and escape.

Meet the Artists
Sophie May is a Gamilaraay artist living and creating on Bundjalung Country. Her practice spans ceramic sculpture, mixed media painting, and the delivery of expressive art workshops for both children and adults. Sophie is deeply inspired by her cultural heritage and believes in using visual art as a powerful tool for self-expression and connection.
Gabrielle Miller is a director and performer bringing playful ingenuity to the stage and screen through music, dance, acting, puppetry, and mask work. A chimerical storyteller with a far-reaching practice, Gabrielle trained at the Atelier für Physisches Theater in Berlin and has toured her self-devised performances around the world.
HOTMESS was born in the wake of the Northern NSW floods, created as an artistic escape from the grief, hardship and exhaustion so many were feeling. It became a portal into something magical — a place to be messy, expressive, and free.
