Carved on Country
Carved on Country is an Aboriginal and family-owned business dedicated to creating authentic, handcrafted Aboriginal artefacts and traditional tools. Founded by Wemba Wemba man Kelvin Cattlin, the business specialises in hand-carved boomerangs, coolamons and didgeridoos, using native timbers carefully and respectfully sourced from Country.
Every piece is individually handcrafted, celebrating the natural beauty of the timber and the enduring strength of Aboriginal culture. No two items are the same, with each artefact reflecting the unique grain, colour and character of the wood from which it is made.
Respect for Country is at the heart of Carved on Country. Timber is ethically gathered with minimal impact on the environment, ensuring cultural practices are carried out responsibly while protecting Country for future generations.
With more than a decade of experience, Kelvin is passionate about preserving and sharing Aboriginal cultural knowledge through traditional craftsmanship. Alongside his carving practice, he works as a Community Engagement Officer on Mununjali Country, drawing on years of experience supporting Aboriginal families and young people. His work is driven by a commitment to strengthening culture, supporting community wellbeing, and helping future generations remain connected to their identity and heritage.
Carved on Country offers more than handcrafted artefacts—it shares stories, cultural knowledge and a deep respect for Country through every piece created.
