'Acknowledge Country Every Day' painting
Aidan Rowlingson, Acknowledge Country Every Day, 2024
"My interpretation of this year's CIAF theme is a reminder to acknowledge country every single day. Talk to it, listen deeply, and connect in every way possible. Depicted is Wat'dha (camp dog), a dingo native to my Butchulla country K'gari. She will sit by you and protect you if you care for her. This textile work will get better with age. It will fray at the edges, it's brightness will fade and it's strings may come loose but each time you look at it will be a new version of something beautiful." Aidan Rowlingson
