Saltwater Born Designs (SB Designs) is a jewellery collection celebrating the natural beauty of mother of pearl through contemporary design and traditional hand-carving techniques.

Each piece is individually hand-carved from mother of pearl, revealing its own unique colours, textures and natural character. No two pieces are ever exactly alike.

Inspired by the beauty and organic forms of the natural world, SB Designs explores the space between jewellery, art and sculpture. Each design is thoughtfully created as a small, wearable work of art – timeless, tactile and beautifully individual.

The collection is hand-carved by Shannon Best, a respected Aboriginal artist and cultural leader with deep connections to the Yugambeh region of Southeast Queensland. With a creative practice grounded in culture, craftsmanship and connection to Country, Shannon brings his artistic skill and appreciation for natural materials to each unique piece.
