The ngangkari are the traditional healers of the Ngaanyatjarra, Pitjantjatjara and Yankunytjatjara Lands, encompassing 350,000 square kilometres of the remote western desert. For thousands of years the ngangkari have nurtured the physical, emotional and social well-being of their people. To increase understanding and encourage collaboration with mainstream health services and the wider community, the ngangkari have forged a rare partnership with health professionals and practitioners of Western medicine. Ngaanyatjarra Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara Women’s Council Aboriginal Corporation was formed in 1980. The idea for a women's organisation arose from the South Australian Pitjantjatjara Land Rights struggle in the late 1970's. The members' determination to improve the quality of life for families in the NPY (Western Desert language) region drives the organisation.

Our art and products are sourced from Aboriginal-owned businesses and Art Centers. Suppliers are carefully vetted to ensure their authenticity and businesses are certified by the Indigenous Art Code.

Each Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander artist, art centre and business are unique and prices are negotiated and can vary.
Generally speaking, we take a 30% commission on sales to cover our overheads; it costs to have a prime location in a Brisbane metro area, professional staff, insurances, marketing and communications, administration and general expenses running a gallery and retail space.
