Colina Wymarra

Colina Wymarra was born on Thursday Island and is the daughter of Edward Wymarra (a Gudang Yadhaykenu man from Cape York) and Kaunur Wymarra (nee Maza) a Dauareb Komet woman from Mer Island in the Torres Strait.

Through her practice, Colina explores storytelling and her connection to Country, celebrating her people and the places that she lives. Colina works across several mediums such as acrylics, ceramics, silks and realism drawing using graphite.

Inspired by the work of renowned Arrernte artist Albert Namatjira, Colina has held a profound interest in art from a young age.
