Desirai Saunders - Tip the Bucket

Tip the Bucket explores the Murri Crab Bucket as a metaphor for how systems of scarcity and colonisation shape internalised survival behaviours within First Nations communities. This body of work reflects on how silence, vigilance, and the pressure to be exceptional can become normalised responses to structural containment. Through humour and familiar imagery, Tip the Bucket invites viewers to pause and consider what happens when inherited survival thinking is made visible — and what might shift when the bucket itself is disturbed.
